Hi, I’m Jon Wallace, an artist from Detroit, Michigan, and the co-creator of Action Block Universe — a new woodblock-style puzzle game built from love, creativity, and a bit of everyday inspiration.
The Inspiration Behind the Game
The idea for Action Block Universe actually came from my wife. She’s a huge fan of woodblock and match puzzle games, but as she played, I often heard her sighs of frustration — the kind only a gamer deeply invested in their favorite pastime can express.
So, while she played, I kept a notepad open on my laptop and started documenting her experiences — what made her smile, what made her groan, and what moments made her say, “This could be better.” Those notes became the blueprint for what would eventually evolve into Action Block Universe.
